Let’s be clear! As we talk about learning to navigate the social media world, it’s coming from the perspective of 50-year-old women working to consume all the knowledge we can concerning all the platforms and all that it entails. Why do I say “Let’s be clear?” Well…just because we are in the “learning curve” in an arena that we have previously only dabbled in doesn’t take away the years of experience in other areas. The office management, administration, writing and event coordinating amongst other skills are very useful as we birth this vision. We’re studying, researching and networking to know the business in order to understand what is going on as we and some of the more “youthful” carry out assignments. We’re gaining knowledge that we can now share with them! It’s a beautiful collaboration and just plain wisdom. We love it when we find someone from our generation desiring to forge into new frontiers and want to encourage them. But, we’d be foolish to think that we can do it alone. But even at 50+ we CAN do it. We ARE doing it!

I took what was supposed to be a quick recess from the school of Social Media which turned out to be anything but quick! It’s amazing how you can look up and time has passed by like a rocket headed to Mars. Learning has become numero uno on our “to do” list and pen and paper have become our new best friends. Oh yes, not to mention we somehow created new compartments in our brains to hold all the stuff we’re not suppose to forget. In all seriousness, time is a precious commodity that we can’t afford to waste. Every minute counts when trying to launch out into new territory. Yes, it will slip by rapidly so we’re making sure it’s time well spent. Well…back to the journey.
